Highlights

Albaicín
The Albaicín or Albayzín as it was known under Muslim rule, is a district of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. It retains the narrow winding streets of its Medieval Moorish past dating back to the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 1984, along with the Alhambra.
Alcaicería of Granada
The Alcaicería market is the Grand Bazaar of Granada and the original Moorish silk market. Longtime, Arabic-style bazaar featuring vendors selling miniatures, purses, souvenirs & jewelry. The original Alcaicería was built in the 15th century and included a series of streets between Plaza Nueva and Plaza Bib-Rambla, full of Arabic silk stalls, spices and other valuable goods. Unfortunately it was destroyed by a fire in the 19th century. The current replica was less than half the size of the original, and was also a cheaper, modern version of this Moorish style, the neo-Moorish.
Corral del Carbon
The Corral del Carbón (Coal House) is a 14th-century monument located in the Spanish city of Granada. It is the only Nasrid alhóndiga preserved in its entirety in the Iberian peninsula.
Granada
Granada is a city in southern Spain’s Andalusia region, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It's known for grand examples of medieval architecture dating to the Moorish occupation, especially the Alhambra. This sprawling hilltop fortress complex encompasses royal palaces, serene patios, and reflecting pools from the Nasrid dynasty, as well as the fountains and orchards of the Generalife gardens.
Granada Cathedral
Granada Cathedral, or the Cathedral of the Incarnation is a Roman Catholic church in the city of Granada, capital of the province of the same name in the Autonomous Region of Andalusia, Spain. The cathedral is the seat of the Archdiocese of Granada.
Royal Chapel of Granada
The Royal Chapel of Granada is an Isabelline style building, constructed between 1505 and 1517, and originally integrated in the complex of the neighbouring Granada Cathedral. It is the burial place of the Spanish monarchs, Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand, the Catholic Monarchs.
Sacromonte
Sacromonte is known as the gypsy quarter, drawing visitors to the hills above Granada for music and dancing after dark. Venues in hillside caves host dramatic flamenco shows along the narrow Camino de Sacromonte road. Sacromonte Caves Museum preserves houses built into the rock, and relics are displayed at Sacromonte Abbey, with sweeping views over the city. Hiking routes and bike trails lead off into the mountains.
University of Granada
The University of Granada is a public university located in the city of Granada, Spain, and founded in 1531 by Emperor Charles V. With approximately 80,000 students, it is the fourth largest university in Spain. Apart from the city of Granada, UGR also has campuses in Ceuta and Melilla.
