Dounan Flower Market

The favorable climatic and geographical conditions enable Dounan Village of Kunming to become the biggest flower wholesale market in China. The epicenter of China’s flower markets, Dounan Flower Market is home to over 200 species of over 3 million flowers with the daily turnover reaching as high as 2.5 million RMB, which boasts of being the biggest flower market in Asia. More than 500 florist shops are available in the Trading Hall of the market, where you can not only see local flower species, such as roses and water lilies, but you can appreciate exotic flowers like moth orchids, forget-me-nots, African daisies, open-herding and carnations, and they drench the air with an enchanting fragrance.

Kunming

Kunming, the modern capital city and transportation hub of China’s southern Yunnan province, has a large student population and a temperate year-round climate. Bridges and pavilions cross the islands of Cui Hu (Green Lake), a park designed in the 17th century. Nearby is Yuantong Si. A temple founded by Buddhists in the 8th century, it features a statue hall and a pond with an ornate stone bridge.

First, you will be brought to Dounan Fresh Flower Market which is considered to be Asia’s Biggest Fresh Flower Market. Dive into this charm and beauty and the atmosphere full of colours and aromas. Right after that you will get to the local bakery where you will get to taste the fresh flower pastry. And then it will be your turn to cook it with a 1.5-hour cooking class.

As soon as your cooking experience comes to an end, you will be brought back to your hotel.
