The Island of El Hierro, the smallest of the main seven Canary Islands and the most westerly is an un-spoilt Island that is rich in subtropical vegetation and live volcanoes. An Island that many have never visited, it mirrors an image of the Canary Islands prior to the mass tourism that the other Islands have witnessed. Cattle and livestock farming are the mainstay of the community, while volcanic peaks and dark lava flows dominate the landscape.
