Highlights

Caldera de Taburiente National Park
Caldera de Taburiente National Park is a rugged area on La Palma, one of Spain’s Canary Islands. It's named for the Caldera de Taburiente, a massive volcanic crater, surrounded by high peaks. The landscape is covered in Canary Island pine forest and cut by waterfalls. The summit of Roque de los Muchachos is home to an observatory. Trails start at Mirador de Los Brecitos viewpoint and Barranco de Las Angustias gorge
Mirador de la Cumbrecita
Observation point with peak & forest vistas & access to walking routes in a national park.
Santa Cruz de La Palma
Santa Cruz de La Palma is the capital city of the island of La Palma, in Spain’s Canary Islands. It’s known for its centuries-old architecture, cobbled streets and busy port. A former convent hosts the Museum of the Island of La Palma, with an art collection and exhibits on natural history and ethnography. The Naval Museum is in a replica of Christopher Columbus's 15th-century Santa Maria sailing ship.

Itinerary

10:00

This viewpoint offers a panoramic view over Santa Cruz de La Palma and its surrounding areas, as well as over to the larger islands of Tenerife and La Gomera. On a day when there is no cloud on the Cumbra Nueva, there is no better mirador. Enjoy around 5-10 minutes taking photographs or soaking up the view.

Now we will head over to Llano del jable, the perfect viewpoint for stargazing at night. At 1200 meters above sea level, the Llano del Jable viewpoint will offer spectacular views over the Aridane valley with the old volcano in the foreground.

Our final viewpoint will be that of Mirador de la Cumbrecita. With the breathtaking view over the National park of Caldera de Taburiente, you will see the paths of several hiking trails which lead up to the Chapel of the Virgin del Pino.

Head down from the Mirador de la Cumbrecita viewpoint until we reach the visitors center of the La Caldera de Taburiente.

The La Caldera de Taburiente national park is covered in Canary island pine forests and waterfalls. Surrounded by high peaks you can see its massive volcanic crater.

Here we will have around 20 minutes to explore and see nature at its best in this rugged area of La Palma. With its vast array of Flora and Fauna lying over the volcanic crater, at over 5 miles wide, you will see why it is one of the most visited in La Palma.

With your tour now over, you will sit back and relax on the journey back to the cruise port.

You will be taken back to the cruise port in plenty of time for your ship’s departure from the port.
