Take a sightseeing tour of some of the most historic landmarks around the city. The Koutoubia Mosque also named the Mosque of the Booksellers, has impressive minaret towers and brightly colored golden domes. Closed to non- Muslims you will still be able to marvel at this stunning building and explore its grounds.
Set against the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains will be the Menara Gardens. Located west of the city, these botanical gardens date back to the 12th century and are home to the stunning pavilion with its small green pyramid-shaped roof.
Discover the history of the site before passing over to the 15th century Saadian Tombs. Here you can admire your surroundings and the gardens of the Bahia Palace. Built-in the late 19th century, it intended to be the greatest palace of its time and its gardens reflect the meaning of the name, “brilliance”.
Take time out for some lunch before heading over to the medieval Medina where you can meander through its narrow streets. Soak up the atmosphere as you make your way past its many tine shops and artisan’s workshops which will bring you to the vast Djemaa el-Fna Square.
Still, the main square used by locals and tourists alike, the square is the perfect place to enable you to absorb the open-air theatre atmosphere and its non-stop entertainment. With an array of storytellers, singers, acrobats, snake charmers, monkey tamers, and more, it will be a most thrilling experience.
No trip to Morocco would be complete without taking to the transport of the locals with a short camel ride in Palmeraie.
With your Moroccan adventure now over, you can board your air-conditioned transportation and take in the views as you make the journey back to the cruise port.
We will return you back to the cruise port in plenty of time for your ship’s departure from the port.
