Overview

Altyn-Arashan thermal resort is situated in the scenic Altyn-Arashan gorge, 2600 meters above sea level, on the banks of the Arashan River, with spruce forest and green fields filled with wildflowers, herbs, and berries. Ak-Suu village (former Teploklyuchenka) is located in the lower reaches of the Arashan River, named after the numerous hot springs located near the village. The spring water contains radon and is used in the treatment of diseases of the nervous system. The name Altyn-Arashan means “golden healing keys”. Arashan gorge is very picturesque but the most beautiful time in the gorge is late July - August.
