Highlights

Kobe
Kobe is the seventh-largest city in Japan and the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture. It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bay and about 30 km west of Osaka. The earliest written records regarding the region come from the Nihon Shoki, which describes the founding of the Ikuta Shrine by Empress Jingū in AD 201. For most of its history, the area was never a single political entity, even during the Tokugawa period, when the port was controlled directly by the Tokugawa shogunate. Kobe did not exist in its current form until its founding in 1889. Kobe became one of Japan's designated cities in 1956.
Kobe Harborland
Harborland is a shopping district in Chuo-ku, Kobe, Japan. Kobe Port Tower is located there. This shopping district was made on the site of the former freight yard, Minatogawa Kamotsu Station of the Japanese National Railways. The yard was removed in 1982 and the shopping district opened in 1992.
Nunobiki Herb Garden
The Nunobiki Herb Garden is a herb garden located on Mount Rokkō above Kobe, Japan. The garden is accessed by Shin-Kobe Ropeway gondola lift from downtown Kobe. It features over 75,000 herbs (200 varieties), plus greenhouses, restaurant and cafe, museums, exhibits, and gift shops. The garden was built in 1991.
Sannomiya Center Gai Shopping Street
Sannomiya Center Gai Shopping Street is a shopping district with an arcade stretching 600 m horizontally from Sogo department store in front of JR Sannomiya Station to Daimaru department store, Former Foreign Settlement, and Chinatown in Motomachi district. Everything can be purchased, from apparel, foods, sundries.
Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum
The Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum was opened in 1984 in Nakayamate, Kobe, as the only museum of carpentry tools in Japan, with the objective to collect and conserve such disappearing tools as a cultural heritage, and to pass them on to the next generation through research and exhibitions.
