Pagoda Forest of Shaolin Temple

The Pagoda Forest at Shaolin Temple refers to a number of stone or brick pagodas (temples or sacred places) built in Henan province, China from 791 AD during the Tang Dynasty through the Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, and Qing Dynasty. The pagoda forest in Shaolin stands at the foot of Shaoshi Mountain and is one of the largest pagoda forests in China. It was named a National Scenic Spot in 1996. Both the Shaolin Monastery and the Pagoda Forest were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 as part of the "Historic Monuments of Dengfeng."

Sanhuang Village Scenic Resort

Sanhuang Village Scenic Resort is located in the south of Shaolin Temple, not in the temple, however, it belongs to the whole scenic area of Shaolin Temple, and the most beautiful part of Mount Song. With an area of 35km2, it's 15km from the Dengfeng city center. As a main part of Songshan National Forest Park, it's famed for its unique biological environment and geologic landforms. The forest in Sanhuang Village is nourishing and thick; various geology types can be seen here, including landforms from Archean, Proterozoic, Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic, and this place is praised as "Natural Geological Museum."

Shaolin Monastery

The Shaolin Monastery, also known as the Shaolin Temple, is a Chan ("Zen") Buddhist temple in Dengfeng County, Henan Province, China. Believed to have been founded in the fifth century, the Shaolin Temple is the main temple of the Shaolin school of Buddhism to this day. Located 90 kilometres (56 miles) west of the city of Zhengzhou, the Shaolin Monastery and its Pagoda Forest were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 as part of the "Historic Monuments of Dengfeng".
