Highlights

Chillon Castle
Chillon Castle is an island castle located on Lake Geneva, south of Veytaux in the canton of Vaud. It is situated at the eastern end of the lake, on the narrow shore between Montreux and Villeneuve, which gives access to the Alpine valley of the Rhône.
Church Saint-Vincent
A very quaint temple in the old town of Montreux. A great view from outside the church of the lake and the interior is interesting, blending original and modern windows.
Freddie Mercury Memorial Statue
In 1996, the English Queen fan club intervened in discussions about the erection of a statue in honour of the late Queen singer, Freddie Mercury. The operation having proved impossible in London, the Queen members with Jim Beach, their manager, opted for the city of Montreux in Switzerland. Located in an idyllic setting on the shores of Lake Geneva and known worldwide for its Jazz Festival, the city of Montreux has dedicated a spectacular location on the lakeshore to place a majestic statue to perpetuate the memory of the unforgettable and great singer that was Freddie Mercury. The statue of Freddie Mercury was donated to the city of Montreux by the Queen's musicians as well as the family and friends of the late singer. It was designed by the Czech sculptor Irena Sedlecká. She now lives in London and is a member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors and the Society of Portrait Sculptors.
Lake Geneva
Lake Geneva (or Lac Léman) is a crescent-shaped lake shared between France and Switzerland, and overlooked by the Alps. Geneva, the Swiss city at its southern tip, is a diplomatic hub with luxury shops and a cobbled old town. On the southern, French side, is the spa town and resort of Évian-les-Bains. The chic, palm-studded Swiss Riviera stretches along the north shore from Lausanne to Montreux.
Montreux
Montreux is a traditional resort town on Lake Geneva. Nestled between steep hills and the lakeside, it's known for its mild microclimate and the Montreux Jazz Festival, held in July. The town's promenade is lined with flowers, sculptures, Mediterranean trees and grand Belle Époque buildings. Offshore is a medieval island castle, Château de Chillon, with ramparts, formal halls and a chapel with 14th-century murals.
