The core city of 6 million people is the industrial and commercial hub for the Municipality of Chongqing, a province-level jurisdiction that extends eastward to the fabled Three Gorges of the Yangtze and encompasses a population of 32 million. In addition to its rapidly developing industries, Chongqing takes pride in its many universities and technical schools, including the renowned Sichuan Fine Arts Academy.
Ciqikou
Ciqikou is an ancient town in the Shapingba District of Chongqing Municipality, People's Republic of China. It was originally called Longyinzhen and was also known as Little Chongqing. According to an old Chinese proverb: "One flagstone road, and one thousand years' Ciqikou". The name of the town can be traced back to porcelain production during the Ming (1368–1644) and Qing Dynasties. Formerly a busy port located at the lower reaches of the Jialing River, a thousand years after its foundation the town remains a symbol and microcosm of old Chongqing (Jiang Zhou).

Commercial streets and five-star hotels are located near the Hot Spring. The spring water originates 1,800 meters underground and the springs are rich in ten kinds of natural minerals, including pure magnesium sulfate, calcium sulfate, and others, which have great value in medical treatment, health and cosmetology.
