Once the tour has arrived at the Pyramids, your guide will escort you around the surroundings giving you information and history about how the pyramids and tombs were built. Three major tombs or pyramids were built by the Pharaohs Cheops, his son Chephren and Chephren’s son, Mykerinus.
Situated in front of the pyramids is the guardian of the ancient complex the very popular monumental statue, with the body of a lion and the head of a human. Each piece of this monument was carved from Giza Plateau bedrock, and it is known to be a national symbol of both ancient and modern Egypt.
After the visit to the Pyramids, it is time for some lunch. The guide will take you to a local restaurant where you will be served a set lunch menu. NB Please advise if you have any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
After lunch, the tour will continue on towards the Egyptian museum, which opened in 1902 this museum holds over 107 halls and displays the world’s largest collection of Egyptian antiquities, including statues, mummies, and the treasures of King Tutankamen.
After the guided tour you will have the chance to explore the museum independently before heading back to Port Said cruise Port. There will be approximately 2 hours inside the museum.
After the visit to the Egyptian museum, you will then board the transportation for the return journey back to Port Said cruise port, the journey will take approximately 3.5 hours (depending on traffic).
