Highlights

Ano mera village
Ano Mera is actually the second biggest town on the island, with Mykonos Town being the largest. With that being said, Ano Mera maintains a small town feel. Even though tourists do make their way here, this isn’t one of those places that is completely overrun by them. In fact, this is a fairly quiet place that will offer visitors to the island a place to relax and enjoy the island beyond all the parties. There are some hotels here, as well as cafes, restaurants, and even some shops to explore. It’s definitely worth a visit.
Delos
Delos is a Greek island and archaeological site in the Aegean Sea's Cyclades archipelago, near Mykonos. The mythological birthplace of Apollo, it was a major religious center and port during the 1st millennium B.C. The island's ruins encompass Doric temples, markets, an amphitheater, houses with mosaics and the iconic Terrace of the Lions statues. The Archaeological Museum displays statues excavated from the site.
Little Venice
Little Venice is one of the most romantic places in Mykonos. This neighborhood is replete with elegant and gorgeous old houses that are situated precariously on the edge of the sea. Many discerning travelers in the past have fallen in love with this charming quarter to its magnetic appeal. Quite amazing are the sunset views from Little Venice. Its whitewashed edifices against the backdrop of the azure blue Aegean Sea is simply marvelous. The air of nonchalance that prevails in Little Venice disarms the most discerning of travelers.
Monastery Tourliani
The monastery of Panagia Tourliani is placed 8km far from Chora town, in Ano Mera village. The construction was originally built in 1542 by two priests and was initially named after the Presentation of the Virgin Mary. The monastery was restored in 1767 and took its present name after an icon of the Virgin Mary found in the nearby area of Tourlos. Since then, Panagia Tourliani became the patroness of the island and celebrates on August, 15th.
Mykonos
Mykonos is an island in the Cyclades group in the Aegean Sea. It's popularly known for its summer party atmosphere. Beaches such as Paradise and Super Paradise have bars that blare thumping music. Massive dance clubs attract world-renowned DJs and typically stay open well past dawn. Iconic landmarks include a row of 16th-century windmills, which sit on a hill above Mykonos town.

Itinerary

10:00

This half-day sightseeing and walking tour of Mykonos town set off southwards towards the beach of Agios Ioannis, passing the most beautiful beach of Ornos with Yachts anchored offshore and the shoreline dotted with Tavernas.

We then stop to enjoy the wonderful view of Delos Island where you will have the opportunity to capture the stunning views on camera. From here it is off to a traditional village and home of the Panagia Tourliana Monastery, located in Ano Mera in the center of the Island. The Monastery was built by monks in 1542 and is rather impressive with a whitewashed exterior, a colored dome, and a beautiful marble fountain in the yard outside the church.

You will then head off to Kalafati beach for a 45 minute stop where you will be able to swim or take refreshments at the seaside cafeteria (at your own cost).

You will then venture off to Mykonos town to start your walking tour. Starting at the old town where you can admire the interesting architecture and enjoy the atmosphere of the narrow streets and alleys along the way, heading to Little Venice, so-called because the houses and cafes are right by the water!

You will see the famous windmills, where grain was milled to make flour, the cathedral of Paraportiani along numerous chapels and traditional houses.

From here you will head back to port or if you would prefer you can stay in the town to a souvenir shop or experience a typical Greek salad in one of the local tavernas before making your own way back to port.

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended and your swimwear and towel if you wish to take a swim at Kalafati beach!
