Highlights

Cape Naturaliste
Cape Naturaliste is a headland in the south western region of Western Australia at the western edge of the Geographe Bay. The first peoples in Cape Naturaliste were the Wardandi Aboriginals, who called it "Kwirreejeenungup", meaning "the place with the beautiful view". In 1801, the French navigator Nicolas Baudin stopped here on 30 May during his exploration of Australia. The French were mapping the coast of New Holland (Australia). Baudin named the bay they found Geographe Bay, after his flagship, Géographe. Later, the cape was named after the expedition's second ship, Naturaliste.
Castle Rock
Castle Rock is a tourist attraction in the Porongurup Range in the Great Southern region of Western Australia and is renowned for its fauna and flora. There is a walk trail to the summit which offers 360 degree views, 570 metres (1,870 ft) above sea level from a lookout known as the Granite Skywalk. The walk also takes in the unusual 'Balancing Rock', a six-metre-high (20 ft) granite boulder which reportedly weighs around 186 tonnes yet rests on a base just 1.21 square metres (13.02 sq ft). A winery located on the eastern slopes of the range is named after this landmark.
Curtis Bay
Curtis Bay is a slight indentation in the granite shoreline 1 km south of Castle Point. In the apex of the bay is a 60 m long pocket of sand (WA 743), bordered by intertidal granite rocks and boulders, and fronted by subtidal rocks, then the sand of the low energy bay floor.
Dunsborough
The pretty town of Dunsborough is a favourite "down south" family holiday destination. A short walk or scenic drive brings you to secluded coves and stunning coastal trails, with local award-winning wineries and breweries offering the perfect excuse for a lazy lunch. Dunsborough itself was proclaimed as a town in 1877 and, until the mid-1950s, was no more than a few beach shacks. Today, it boasts a vibrant arts scene, with live music, widely-renowned art galleries and bustling summer markets. Just beyond the fringes of town, you'll come to the cellar doors of some of the Margaret River region's 100 plus wineries and the tasting rooms of award-winning boutique breweries. Here, you can savour fruit-intense chardonnays, rich semillons, robust cabernets, soft merlots and refreshing fine ales.
Eagle Bay
Eagle Bay is carefully hidden in the south-west region of Western Australia. Eagle Bay is home to some of the south-west's most picturesque and pristine beaches, making it the resting place of much of Australia's unique marine life. These marine animals call the white sandy beaches and aquamarine waters their home, while these waters also offer perfect opportunities for fishing, swimming or snorkelling. Surfers here will also fall in love with the pleasant blend of wild and composed waves, and there is always one to catch.
Meelup Beach
Meelup Beach is one of the most popular swimming beaches in Dunsborough. The relatively calm southern waters of Geographe Bay make it a pleasant swimming and sunning beach all year round. It is located just north-west of Dunsborough Town and is one of the most popular swimming beaches in Dunsborough.
