Itinerary

10:00

The tour will commence with a beautiful scenic drive through Korcula to the lovely Bire Estate which is located near a village called Lumbarda.  On arrival at the estate, there is an opportunity to walk through the delightful grounds, including the exquisite orchards and the many vegetation plots.  During the walk, you will learn all about the estate’s produce, the wines, as well as many other products of the island.

What better way to learn about the estate and the produce but by trying them?  A tasting of the wines will be given along with a light snack to compliment, which will be some of their local delicacies such as cheese, bread, and salty fish.  (The wine tasting and the samples of cheese, bread, and fish are included within the tour).

As the visit to the winery comes to an end, it is now time to board the minibus back to the lovely old town of Korcula.  Arriving at Korcula there will be a walking tour with your professional guide, during this tour you will witness the Rector’s Palace, with its 15th Century turrets and impressive fortifications which were built between the 14th and 16th centuries, these were built to guard against Pirates and Turkish Invaders.

Your guide will be accompanying you as we wander through the quaint streets of Korcula, lucky enough to see the town’s treasury, which is situated in the square’s 14th-century abbey and also Korcula’s Cathedral, which was inspired by St Mark’s Cathedral in Venice, it is housing two paintings by the 16th-century painter, Tintoretto.

At the end of the tour, your guide will escort you back to the port in plenty of time for your cruise ship’s departure.  For guests who wish to experience more time in the Old Town, they can remain and make their own way back when ready.
