Discover Napoleon with The Imperial City Walking Tour
Corsica is an island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located west of Italy, southeast of the French mainland, and north of the island of Sardinia. Corsica was formed as an island through volcanic explosions. It is known as the most mountainous island in the Mediterranean. The island has a natural park, which protects thousands of rare animal and plant species. The park was created in 1972 and includes the Golfe de Porto, the Scandola Nature Reserve, and some of the highest mountains on the island. Ajaccio has some great beaches, swimming, and extreme sports to offer travelers visiting France. It's really worth staying over in Ajaccio for at least a few days if you're traveling through France's Corsica region. Ajaccio is one of France's more popular travel destinations, and travelers usually go there to see the Iles Sanguinaires and Capo di Feno.
