Highlights

Arnarstapi
Arnarstapi or Stapi is a small fishing village at the foot of Mt. Stapafell between Hellnar village and Breiðavík farms on the southern side of Snæfellsnes, Iceland.
Djupalonssandur Beach
Djupalonssandur is a sandy beach and bay on foot of Snæfellsjökull in Iceland. It was once home to sixty fishing boats and one of the most prolific fishing villages on the Snæfellsnes peninsula but today the bay is uninhabited.
Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall
Kirkjufellsfoss is a modest, low lying waterfall that drops 54 feet in two broad steps as its stream makes its final plunge to a lagoon along the shore of the ocean, with the famous mountain Kirkjufell looming above.
Malarrif
Malarrif is a town in Breiðuvíkurhreppur under Jökl, a short distance west of Lóndrangi. There is about two km from the highway and Malarrif is the southernmost part of Snæfellsness almost to the south of the peaks of Snæfellsjökull. From Malarrif there was fishing and exploration for centuries and extensive fishing until the turn of the century in 1900. The lighthouse was first built there in 1917 and then rebuilt in 1946.
Reykjavik
Reykjavik, on the coast of Iceland, is the country's capital and largest city. It's home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history. The striking concrete Hallgrimskirkja church and rotating Perlan glass dome offer sweeping views of the sea and nearby hills. Exemplifying the island’s volcanic activity is the geothermal Blue Lagoon spa, near the village of Grindavik.
Snaefellsjokull National Park
Snaefellsjokull National Park was established on June 28th, 2001. The Park's purpose is to protect and conserve the area's unique landscape, indigenous plants and animal life as well as the important historical relics. At the same time, the Park is meant to allow visitors easier access as well as improved opportunities to get to know the area.
Snaefellsjokull Volcano
Snaefellsjokull is a 700,000-year-old glacier-capped stratovolcano in western Iceland. It is situated on the most western part of the Snaefellsnes peninsula in Iceland. Sometimes it may be seen from the city of Reykjavík over Faxa Bay, at a distance of 120 km. The mountain is one of the most famous sites of Iceland, primarily due to the novel Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864) by Jules Verne, in which the protagonists find the entrance to a passage leading to the center of the earth on Snaefellsjokull.
