Highlights

Clifden
Clifden is a coastal town in County Galway, Ireland, in the region of Connemara, located on the Owenglin River where it flows into Clifden Bay. As the largest town in the region, it is often referred to as "the Capital of Connemara". Frequented by tourists, Clifden is linked to Galway city by the N59.
Connemara
Connemara is a district in western Ireland, facing the Atlantic. Its coastline has tiny coves, bays and fishing villages like Roundstone. Connemara National Park is a vast expanse of mountains, bogs, heathland and lakes. The park is also home to a herd of Connemara ponies. The area’s main town, Clifden, has several venues for traditional Irish music. Here, too, are the ruins of Gothic Revival–style Clifden Castle.
Galway
Galway, a harbour city on Ireland’s west coast, sits where the River Corrib meets the Atlantic Ocean. The city’s hub is 18th-century Eyre Square, a popular meeting spot surrounded by shops and traditional pubs that often offer live Irish folk music. Nearby, stone-clad cafes, boutiques and art galleries line the winding lanes of the Latin Quarter, which retains portions of the medieval city walls.
Kylemore Abbey
Kylemore Abbey is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1920 on the grounds of Kylemore Castle, in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland. The abbey was founded for Benedictine Nuns who fled Belgium in World War I. The current Mother Abbess of the Benedictine Community is Marie Hickey.
