Archipelago of Gothenburg
The archipelago of Gothenburg comprises northern and southern archipelagoes. The southern archipelago is part of Gothenburg municipality located in the province of Västergötland while the northern archipelago is Öckerö municipality, located in the province of Bohuslän. Trafikverket has ferries from Lilla Varholmen to the northern archipelago. Some of the islands are interconnected by bridges. Southern archipelago ferries go from Saltholmen, plus a freight ferry from Fiskebäck.
Gothenburg
Gothenburg is the second-largest city in Sweden, fifth-largest in the Nordic countries, and the capital of the Västra Götaland County. It is situated by Kattegat, on the west coast of Sweden, and has a population of approximately 570,000 in the city proper and about 1 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area. Gothenburg was founded as a heavily fortified, primarily Dutch, trading colony, by royal charter in 1621 by King Gustavus Adolphus. Gothenburg is an important seaport, it's known for its Dutch-style canals and leafy boulevards like the Avenyn, the city's main thoroughfare, lined with many cafes and shops.
Hälsö island
Hälsö is an island and a locality situated in Öckerö Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 611 inhabitants in 2010. Hälsö is situated in the northern part of the archipelago and offers nice harbor walks along small and winding roads. There are also ancient remains on the island, mainly stone circles from temporary fishing camps. On the northern part of the island, there are good fishing opportunities.
Hönö island
Hönö island lies in the northern part of the Gothenburg archipelago, has a popular marina, The Fishing Museum, and a wide range of activities such as scuba diving and kayaking.
Öckerö island
Öckerö is an island in the northern part of the Gothenburg archipelago, a locality and the seat of Öckerö Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden.
Öckerö Old Church
The older church of Öckerö was built around 1450 to the site of the earlier wooden church. The current appearance date from the restoration made in the 1780s. There are two artifacts, a font, and crucifix, dating from the previous church and two wooden sculptures made in the 15th century. The altar was made in 1626 and roof paintings (“Last Judgement”) in 1792.
The Fishing Museum
The Fishing Museum is located in Hönö Klåva harbor, which documents the history of fishing and its development in the archipelago. Visitors can learn about the tools and boats that were used, and explore Normy - the fishing boat which is built into the museum.

12-minutes ride by ferry will bring you to Hono island, where you can see the small harbor with different fishing boats and visit Fishing Museum to plunge into the history of fishing.

You will be able to reach other islands by small bridges. The guide will show many places on the islands which will amaze you with their beauty.

There are many cozy restaurants and cafes on the islands, where you can have lunch (on your own).

The guide will bring you back to Gothenburg by ferry.
