Calle Mayor is the main pedestrian street with beautiful architecture in old Cartagena that takes you from the cruise port past the Roman Theatre/Museum, the Church of Santa Domingo, and many shops and restaurants. Cartagena, port city, in the provincia (province) and comunidad autónoma (autonomous community) of Murcia, southeastern Spain. It is the site of Spain’s chief Mediterranean naval base. The Conception Castle is the best starting point to explore the city and acquire an overview of its 3,000 years of history. Located on the hill of the same name, it has served as the enclave to a Roman temple dedicated to Asclepius, a Muslim fortress, a medieval castle, or the place where the siren was installed that warned the population of the bombing during the Civil War. Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Holy Fountain is a Baroque-style, Roman Catholic church in the pedanía of Algezares, part of the city of Murcia, in the region of Murcia, Spain. A church at the site began in 1694. The facade was completed in 1705 designed by Toribio Martínez de la Vega. The facade had reliefs and sculptures designed by Jaime Bort and completed by José Balaguer.

La Glorieta de España, also known as the Glorieta or Paseo de la Glorieta, is one of the most important, popular, and beautiful squares in Murcia. It can be found in the old town, next to the Segura river, separated by a road, and, is very close by to Cardenal Belluga square, where Murcia cathedral is, linked by Arenal street. It's a pedestrianized square, elongated in shape and with flower beds. It has two major buildings: the Town Hall or Council building and the Episcopal Palace.

The Cathedral Church of Saint Mary in Murcia (Spanish: Iglesia Catedral de Santa María en Murcia), commonly called the Cathedral of Murcia, is a Catholic church in the city of Murcia, Spain. It is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cartagena.

The City Hall is, without any doubt, one of the most beautiful buildings in Cartagena. Eclectic, somewhat French style, was built between 1900-1907 by Tomás Rico with the collaboration of Francisco de Paula Oliver, on the same site where the old building of the consistory of the 18th century was located. The triangular building has three different facades with abundant decorative elements: split pediments, elliptical windows, classic moldings, female heads, shields ... The construction materials used were Macael marble (Almeria) and Villalba granite, iron, and zinc. The main façade, in the Town Hall square, is marked with a porch to which the Sessions Hall opens, topped by the main dome. Through this portico, we access the interior where its hall and the imperial staircase are illuminated by lunettes, decorated with allegorical motifs related to the city, and a large stained glass window where the shield of Cartagena stands out. This staircase serves as an axis to the building in which the main dependencies in modernist style, such as the Plenary Hall, the Hall of Councilors and the Mayor's Office. At present, after its restoration at the beginning of the 21st century, it maintains its representative function and bureaucratic activity of the municipal corporation.

The Punic wall of Cartagena is an archaeological site from the 3rd century BC in which can be seen the first defensive wall of Cartagena, built by the Carthaginians. This is an important site because it is one of the few remains of Carthaginian civilization in Spain, and the walls bear witness to one of the most important events of Ancient history in the Mediterranean Sea: the Second Punic War.

The theatre was built between 5 and 1 BC, as has been proven by the dedication of the edifice to Gaius and Lucius Caesar, grandsons of Augustus, who had designated them as his successors. In the 3rd century AD a market was built over the theatre, reusing its materials, with a semicircular open space which followed the plan of the orchestra. The market was perhaps abandoned after a fire caused by the Vandals in 425. A market quarter of the Byzantines was established on the site in the 6th century AD. Dedicatory inscriptions to Gaius and Lucius Caesar. During the 13th century, the Old Cathedral of the city was built over the upper cavea. In 1988 the first remains of the theatre were discovered during the construction of the Centro regional de artesanía. The archaeological excavations and the restorations were completed in 2003. In 2008 a museum, designed by Rafael Moneo, was opened.
