A group of nine unspoiled Similan islands, is the undisputed number 1 spot for scuba diving in Thailand, with its dive sites considered to be some of the best on the planet. Completely undeveloped, islands offer their visitors a pristine, remote area in the same state as it was thousands of years ago. With white sandy beaches, lush vegetation, crystal clear waters, and only the sound being the wind through the branches, the Similans offer the ultimate place to get away from it all.

Highlights

Koh Bangu Island
Koh Bangu or also known as Island #9 and it is a diving haven. Koh Bangu is located at the northernmost of the Similan Islands. It has beautiful boulder formations, with some being decent diving spots for the diving enthusiasts to indulge in the sport. Snorkeling can be done with style among the clear waters of Koh Bangu with the sightings of a myriad of tropical fish accompanying the activity. Other resident marine life includes the squid and the sea turtle.
Koh Miang Island
Koh Miang or Island #4 hosts the national park headquarters for the Similan Islands, and is a perfect place to moor up on the super-soft sands. Famed for two bays (Honeymoon & Princess), where the King of Thailand’s daughter spent her honeymoon. There is marvelous snorkeling and shallow diving on Koh Miang. While ashore, you’ll find easy trails for forest walks. Koh Miang is known as an island that is more developed for visitors. Accommodation options on the island include bungalows and a high number of tents along with other facilities such as a restaurant and a shop for visitors to buy souvenirs.
Koh Payu Island
Koh Payu, or Island #6, is another gem to visit among the Similan Archipelago that is mainly known for its dive sites. Unlike most of the other islands that make up the Similan Archipelago, Koh Payu has no beaches. However, diving and snorkeling enthusiasts will find Koh Payu to be a great place to take into consideration. Most divers who travel to Koh Payu tend to choose the eastern shores of the island to dive and snorkel as the beauty of wildlife can be experienced marvelously. The preference is mainly due to the presence of both soft and hard corals, sea fans, and the variety of fish. Not surprisingly, Koh Payu features a myriad of diving sites with exotic names that can be explored from a diving liveaboard.
Phuket
Phuket is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. It consists of the island of Phuket, the country's largest island, and another 32 smaller islands off its coast. It lies off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. Phuket Island is connected by the Sarasin Bridge to Phang Nga Province to the north. The next nearest province is Krabi, to the east across Phang Nga Bay. Phuket Province has an area of 576 square kilometres (222 sq mi), somewhat less than that of Singapore, and is the second-smallest province of Thailand. The island was on one of the major trading routes between India and China, and was frequently mentioned in foreign ships' logs of Portuguese, French, Dutch, and English traders, but was never colonised by a European power. It formerly derived its wealth from tin and rubber and now from tourism.
Similan Islands
The Similan Islands is an archipelago in the Andaman Sea off the coast of, and part of, Phang Nga Province in southern Thailand. It was established as Mu Ko Similan National Park in 1982 after a one-year assessment by the forestry department.
