Tartu
Tartu is a city in eastern Estonia. It’s known for the prestigious, 17th-century University of Tartu. The old town centers on the university’s neoclassical main building, and the cafe-filled Town Hall Square, home to the Kissing Students fountain. The modern Science Centre AHHAA has hands-on exhibits and a 4D cinema. The ruined Tartu Cathedral, in hilltop Toomemägi Park, has 2 restored towers with viewing platforms.
Tartu Dome Church
Tartu Cathedral, earlier also known as Dorpat Cathedral, is a former Catholic church in Tartu, Estonia. The building is now an imposing ruin overlooking the lower town.
Toomemäe park
Toomemägi is a hill in Tartu, Estonia. Geologically, Toomemägi is part of the Emajõgi's ancient valley. Toomemägi is site of Tartu's beginnings. By the 7th century CE, local inhabitants had built wooden fortifications on the east side of Toomemägi. In medieval times, there was also a bishop's castle.
Viljandi
Viljandi is a town and municipality in southern Estonia with a population of 17,407 in 2019. It is the capital of Viljandi County and is geographically located between two major Estonian cities, Pärnu and Tartu. The town was first mentioned in 1283, upon being granted its town charter by Wilhelm von Endorpe.
Viljandi castle
Viljandi Castle is 13th Century castle in a Viljandi, Estonia. It was built by the Livonian Order, and construction started in 1224 in place of a former hillfort, which was one of the strongest castles in Livonia.
