Highlights

Bourgas
Burgas is the second largest city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast in the region of Northern Thrace and the fourth-largest in Bulgaria after Sofia, Plovdiv, and Varna, with a population of 202,694 inhabitants, while 277,922 live in its urban area. It is the capital of Burgas Province and an important industrial, transport, cultural and tourist centre. It is classified as the best living city in Bulgaria. The city is surrounded by the Burgas Lakes and located at the westernmost point of the Black Sea, at the large Burgas Bay. The Port of Burgas is the largest port in Bulgaria, and Burgas Airport is the second most important in the country. Burgas is the centre of the Bulgarian fishing and fish processing industry.
Erketch village
Kozichino is still known for its Turkish name of 1934 – Erketch. It is situated on the ridge of Eminska mountain, between the peaks of Balyova Chuka (524 m) and Idilitsa (448 m), 24 km west of Obzor and 32 km north of Burgas as the crow flies. The etymology of the name is from the Turkish word “erken-getch”, which when pronounced fast sound like “erketch” and means “pass and cross” or “leave faster”. There is no exact data of the time the first settlement here – the village is believed to have existed since the times of the First Bulgarian Kingdom. It has been at this place since XV or XVI century, and the first written data are from Turkish tax documents from the middle of XVII century.
Giliovca village
This is a small village that can show you how Bulgaria looked like years ago. For centuries, it hasn't changed much. This is one of the best areas to discover local traditions.
Nessebar
Nesebar is an ancient city and one of the major seaside resorts on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, located in Burgas Province. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Nesebar Municipality. Often referred to as the "Pearl of the Black Sea", Nesebar is a rich city-museum defined by more than three millennia of ever-changing history. The small city exists in two parts separated by a narrow man-made isthmus with the ancient part of the settlement on the peninsula (previously an island), and the more modern section (i.e. hotels, later development) on the mainland side. The older part bears evidence of occupation by a variety of different civilisations over the course of its existence. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations and seaports on the Black Sea, in what has become a popular area with several large resorts—the largest, Sunny Beach, is situated immediately to the north of Nesebar. Nesebar has on several occasions found itself on the frontier of a threatened empire, and as such it is a town with a rich history. Due to the city's abundance of historic buildings, UNESCO came to include Nesebar in its list of World Heritage Sites in 1983.
