Highlights

Asahi Beer Brewery
The company was founded in Osaka in 1889 and the first Asahi beer was chugged in 1892, but the massive Nagoya brewery established in 1973 is more or less the epitome of dedication to making a perfect beer. Located near JR Shin-Moriyama station on the Chuo Line (about 10 minutes walk to the brewery gate) next to the Shonai River, this brewery quenches the thirst of many beer lovers in the Chubu region.
Kirin Beer Nagoya Factory
In operation since 1962, Kirin Beer Nagoya Factory is the oldest beer factory in the Tokai area, but that doesn’t mean that it is a relic, by any stretch of the imagination. Its old factory (which is actually in Kiyosu city, 5km from Nagoya station) has since been renovated so visitors may watch the unique brewing kettles for boiling ingredients. With its operating history of more than 100 years in the beer industry, The Kirin Brewery Company focuses on "customers" and "quality." The Nagoya factory provides new value products mainly in the Tokai and Hokuriku areas.
Nagoya
With over two million inhabitants, Nagoya is Japan fourth most populated city. It is the capital of Aichi Prefecture and the principal city of the Nobi plain, one of Honshu's three large plains and metropolitan and industrial centers. Nagoya developed as the castle town of the Owari, one of the three branches of the ruling Tokugawa family during the Edo Period. Much of the city, including most of its historic buildings, were destroyed in the air raids of 1945. The Toyota Motor Corporation maintains its headquarters just outside of Nagoya.
