Highlights

Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum
The Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum in Koganei Park, Tokyo, Japan, is a museum of historic Japanese buildings. The park includes many buildings from the ordinary middle class Japanese experience to the homes of wealthy and powerful individuals such as former Prime Minister Takahashi Korekiyo, out in the open in a park. The museum enables visitors to enter and explore a wide variety of buildings of different styles, periods, and purposes, from upper-class homes to pre-war shops, public baths (sentō), and Western-style buildings of the Meiji period, which would normally be inaccessible to tourists or other casual visitors, or which cannot be found in Tokyo. Acclaimed animator Hayao Miyazaki often visited here during the creation of his film, Spirited Away, for inspiration.
Ghibli Museum
The Ghibli Museum is a museum showcasing the work of the Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli. It is located in Inokashira Park in Mitaka, a western city of Tokyo, Japan. The museum combines features of a children's museum, technology museum, and a fine arts museum, and is dedicated to the art and technique of animation. Features include a replica of the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro (1988), a café, bookstore, rooftop garden, and a theater for exclusive short films by Studio Ghibli.
Hotel Gajoen Tokyo
Hotel Gajoen Tokyo is a luxury hotel filled with extravagance and prestige. Built in 1928, the hotel is also known by the nickname “Palace of the Dragon God”. The intricate design of the hotel whisks guests to a time more lavish and lush. The hotel’s aesthetic has remained untouched since the Showa era. Now, the hotel is still used for staying guests and remains a popular wedding venue for the affluent couple. The hotel also hosts art exhibitions alongside their permanent lacquer murals and paintings in their in house museum.
Jindaiji Temple
Jindaiji Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple in Chofu City, in the west of Tokyo, and the second oldest in the metropolis, after Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. Jindai is worth visiting not only for its historical significance, but for its grand temple buildings, hushed sylvan setting, the tiny "township" feel of the quaint soba restaurants and other shops leading up to its gate, and, not least, for its proximity to the year-round beautiful Jindai Botanical Garden.
Tokyo
Tokyo is the capital and most populous prefecture of Japan. Located at the head of Tokyo Bay, the prefecture forms part of the Kantō region on the central Pacific coast of Japan's main island, Honshu. Tokyo is the political and economic center of the country, as well as the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the national government. In 2019, the prefecture had an estimated population of 13,929,280. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world, with more than 37.393 million residents as of 2020.
