Highlights

Cassis
Cassis is a commune situated east of Marseille in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, whose coastline is known in English as the French Riviera, in Southern France.
Church Saint-François-de-Paule
The church St-François-de-Paule was built in 1744 on the location of the former royal castle. The building is widely inspired by the Roman and Piedmontese baroque. It is placed under the name of Saint Francis de Paule, founder of the Minimes. It is administered at the request of the bishop of the diocese of Fréjus-Toulon Monsignor Rey by the Missionaries of Divine Mercy, founded in 2005 by the Abbot Fabrice Loiseau. Mass is celebrated there in Latin, according to the extraordinary form of the Roman rite.
Fontaine de la Fédération
The Fountain of the Federation is located on Place de la Liberté, the main square in downtown Toulon, France. It was created in 1852 by the architect Gaudensi Allar and his brother, the sculptor André-Joseph Allar.
Mont Faron and the Cable Car
Mont Faron is a mountain overlooking the city and roadstead of Toulon, France. It is 584m high. At its peak is a memorial dedicated to the 1944 Allied landings in Provence (Operation Dragoon), and to the liberation of Toulon. The top can be reached either by a cable car from Toulon, or by a steep and narrow road which ascends from the west side and descends on the east side. Inaugurated in 1959, the téléphérique de Mont Faron is the only cable car on the Mediterranean coast. It was entirely refurbished in 2001, since when the number of visitors has quadrupled: there are now over 20000 a month in the summer.
National Calanques park
Calanques National Park is a French national park located in Bouches-du-Rhône, in Southern France. It was established in 2012 and extends over 520 km2 (201 sq mi), of which 85 km2 (33 sq mi) is land, while the remaining is the marine area. It includes parts of the Massif des Calanques stretching between Marseille, Cassis and La Ciotat. Several of the park's best known features include the Calanque de Sormiou, Calanque de Morgiou, Calanque de Port-Miou, Calanque de Sugiton, as well as the Cosquer Cave.
Saint Louis Church
St Louis church boasts a Neo-Classical facade. Its triple nave features double Doric colonnades and a lantern dome, supported by ten Corinthian columns. The church almost seems incongruous within the tangled streets of the old town.
Sculpture de Bateau
On the streets of old Toulon between Vezzani street and the passage of the Capuchins in the historic center, you will discover a gigantic sculpture boat (ten meters high and ten meters in length and width), installed against an unusual way building. This building is a replica of the bow of the frigate "La Flore", which was based in Toulon in the eighteenth century. An iconic boat which is part of the maritime past of the city .
The Corniche des Crêtes
The Corniche des Crêtes is a picturesque and narrow coastal road in the south of France, winding from Cassis to La Ciotat along the Mediterranean shore. The road was opened to traffic in 1969 and it leads along the Falaises (high cliffs) up to Cap Canaille, a cape 362 meters above the sea, and the highest cliff in France. From there it continues to Grande Tête, an elevation which is 399 meters high. The Corniche des Crêtes is about 15 km long and offers magnificent views of the sea, as well as the town of Cassis and the Calanques.
The Royal Tour
The Tour Royale is a fort built in the 16th century to protect the entrance of the Petit Rade, the naval port of Toulon. It was the first fortification of the harbor, built 22 years after Provence became a part of France.
Toulon
Toulon is a city on the French Riviera and a large port on the Mediterranean coast, with a major naval base. Located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Toulon is the capital of the Var department. The Commune of Toulon has a population of 165,514 people (2009), making it France's 15th-largest city. It is the center of an urban area with 559,421 inhabitants (2008), the ninth-largest in France. Toulon is the fourth-largest French city on the Mediterranean coast after Marseille, Nice, and Montpellier. Toulon is an important center for naval construction, fishing, winemaking, and the manufacture of aeronautical equipment, armaments, maps, paper, tobacco, printing, shoes, and electronic equipment.
Toulon Cathedral
Toulon Cathedral (Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-la-Seds de Toulon; Notre-Dame-de-la-Sède de Toulon), also known as Sainte-Marie-Majeure, is a Roman Catholic church located in Toulon, in the Var department of France. The cathedral is a national monument. Construction of the church began in the 11th century and finished in the 18th century. From the 5th century onwards, it was the seat of the Bishops of Toulon, and since 1957 has been the ecclesiastical seat of the Diocese of Fréjus-Toulon. The first cathedral at Toulon existed in the 5th century, but no trace of it remains. The present building was begun in 1096 by Gilbert, Count of Provence, according to tradition in gratitude for his safe return from the Crusades.
