Piran is a town in southwest Slovenia on the Adriatic Sea. The town has a rich history with a lot of medieval architecture, narrow streets and typical compact houses. The area has become popular with tourists due to its history, sights of interest and location Piran was heavily influenced in its architecture by the Venetians and the walls of the town were constructed to protect it from Ottoman invasions. Your tour will begin in Tartini Square. The square was named after violinist and composer Guiseppe Tartina and there is a monument to him was built in 1896. You will have the chance to explore the square and enjoy a coffee in one of the lovely cafes. Your tour will continue to the church of St George – a Roman Catholic church located on a hill above Piran. You will also have plenty of time to explore the city by yourself before rejoining your guide to travel to the Port of Roses. The port is one of Slovenia’s largest tourist destinations due to its proximity to the sea, beautiful architecture and dedication to the arts.
