Highlights

Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha
The Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha is a Shintō shrine in the city of Fujinomiya in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is the ichinomiya of former Suruga Province, and is the head shrine of the 1300 Asama or Sengen shrines in the country. The shrine has an extensive location within downtown Fujinomiya; in addition, the entire top of Mount Fuji from the 8th stage upwards is considered to be part of the shrine grounds. The main festival of the shrine is held annually on May 5, and features yabusame performances. In 2013, the shrine was added to the World Heritage List as part of the Fujisan Cultural Site.
Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji is with 3776 meters Japan's highest mountain. It is not surprising that the nearly perfectly shaped volcano has been worshiped as a sacred mountain and experienced big popularity among artists and common people throughout the centuries. Mount Fuji is an active volcano, which most recently erupted in 1707. It stands on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days.
Oshino Hakkai
Oshino Hakkai is an attraction in the Mount Fuji region made up of eight spring water ponds full of natural snow melted water that has dripped down from Mount Fuji. Since its natural occurrence more than 80 years ago, it’s now been filtered to be completely pristine clear and is considered sacred by many. These eight ponds fill the grounds of Oshino Hakkai, and you can visit them all via the many pretty bridges and pathways which lead around the sight. This small site situated in the traditional Oshino village within the Fuji Five Lakes Region is the place to be for photographers looking for premium views of Mount Fuji as well as travellers who can appreciate traditional villages. Situated between the beastie Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanako, it’s a popular stopover destination where people can spend a few hours taking in the views and enjoying a peaceful ambience, despite the numbers that this place draws.
Shinjuku City
Shinjuku City encompasses the buzzing clubs and karaoke rooms of neon-lit East Shinjuku and upscale hotel bars and restaurants in the Skyscraper District. Tokyo Metropolitan Building has a popular observation deck, and Mount Hakone rises over tranquil urban parkland. Galleries, theaters, and bookstores attract students from busy campuses. New National Stadium is a high-tech sports venue built for the 2020 Olympics.
Shiraito Falls
Shiraito Falls is a waterfall in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture, near Mount Fuji, Japan. It is part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and has been protected since 1936 as a Japanese Natural Monument. The falls were regarded as sacred under the Fuji cult. Another waterfall, the Otodome Falls is approximately a five-minute walk away. The Shiraito Falls is listed as one of "Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls", in a listing published by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment in 1990. It was also selected as one of the 100 Landscapes of Japan in 1927. In 2013 the waterfall was added to the World Heritage List as part of the Fujisan Cultural Site.
