Highlights

Moegi-no-Yu hotspring
Moegi-no-Yu is a great place to take a well-earned soak in natural hot spring waters after a day of hiking in the local mountains. The water comes from deep underground in Okutama, drawn directly from the source, so it is 100% natural. Enjoy the indoor and outdoor baths, which offer some nice views of the Okutama River. There is also a communal foot bath. Located a 10-minute walk from JR Okutama Station on the Ome Line, Moegi-no-Yu is also conveniently located to the accommodations and camping areas along the river.
Nippara Limestone Cave
A 1.5-hour drive west of Yokota Air Base, home of U.S. Forces Japan in western Tokyo, is Nippara, the largest limestone cave in the region. Located in Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park near Okutama, Nippara Limestone Cave makes for an interesting destination with an average year-round temperature of 53 degrees inside. The cave reopened in July after roads there were damaged during the 2019 typhoon season. When driving to the cave, don’t miss any of the scenery on the narrow and winding roads leading to a small parking area overlooking the Nippara River and the cave entrance.
Okutama
Okutama area in the western part of Tokyo is where you can enjoy outdoor activities and Japan's nature. It is a place richly endowed with nature where you can enjoy stunning landscapes like nowhere else in Tokyo. Okutama is easily accessible from the center of Tokyo via a 2-hour train ride, so it's a good destination for a day trip.
Shinjuku City
Shinjuku City encompasses the buzzing clubs and karaoke rooms of neon-lit East Shinjuku and upscale hotel bars and restaurants in the Skyscraper District. Tokyo Metropolitan Building has a popular observation deck, and Mount Hakone rises over tranquil urban parkland. Galleries, theaters, and bookstores attract students from busy campuses. New National Stadium is a high-tech sports venue built for the 2020 Olympics.
