Highlights

China Wood Carving Art Gallery
Appearing so evident amidst a thriving metropolitan district of Harbin, China, spanning 200 meters in length, the China Wood Sculpture Museum sits as a locational anomaly, seemingly out of place, surrounded by a densely populated Chinese-style neighborhood and residential complexes. The museum embodies some of the foremost conceptual and formal ideals that define the work of MAD, bringing out an expression and abstraction of nature to an otherwise quotidian surrounding. The boundaries between solid and liquid are blurred throughout this 13,000 sqm building, referencing the local natural scenery and landscape.
Daoli District
Daoli District is one of nine districts of the prefecture-level city of Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China, forming part of the city's urban core. It is located on the Songhua River. It borders the districts of Songbei to the north, Daowai to the northeast, Nangang to the east, and Shuangcheng to the south, as well as the prefecture-level city of Suihua to the northwest. Nowadays, Daoli District is also famous because of Central Street, which is one of the main business streets in Harbin.
Guandong Ancient Lane
Guandong Ancient Lane is located in Daoli District, Harbin. The golden source culture of the millennium and the Kanto culture of the past 100 years are gathered here. Pushing open a baroque door, you enter the ancient lane of Kanto. In the ancient alley of Guandong, there is a lot of excitement, and every place tells the historical story of "Chuang GuanDong". At the end of Guxiang Street, it is a big stage, and different traditional Northeast operas are performed every day. Drink tea and watch a movie here, sitting in the lively alley, you can take in the Kanto people.
Harbin
Harbin is a sub-provincial city and the provincial capital of Heilongjiang province, People's Republic of China, as well as the second largest city by urban population and largest city by metropolitan population (urban and rural together) in Northeast China. Harbin serves as a key political, economic, scientific, cultural and communications hub in Northeast China, as well as an important industrial base of the nation. Harbin is also one of the top 200 science cities and metropolitan areas in the world by scientific research as tracked by the Nature Index. With its often harsh winters, Harbin is heralded as the Ice Cityfor its well-known winter tourism and recreations.Harbin is notable for its ice sculpture festival in the winter. Besides being well known for its historical Russian legacy, the city serves as an important gateway in Sino-Russian trade today. In the 1920s, the city was considered China's fashion capital since new designs from Paris and Moscow reached here first before arriving in Shanghai. The city was voted "China Top Tourist City" by the China National Tourism Administration in 2004.
