Highlights

Port Douglas
Port Douglas is a coastal town and locality in the Shire of Douglas, Queensland, approximately 70 km (40 mi) north of Cairns. In the 2016 census, Port Douglas had a population of 3,504 people. The town is named in honour of a former Premier of Queensland, John Douglas. Port Douglas developed quickly based on the mining industry. Other parts of the area were established with timber cutting occurring in the area surrounding the Daintree River and with settlement starting to occur on lots around the Mossman River by 1880. Previous names for the town included Terrigal, Island Point, Port Owen and Salisbury. The town is situated adjacent to two World Heritage areas, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. Port Douglas was No. 3 on Australian Traveller magazine's list of 100 Best Towns In Australia.

Itinerary

10:00

Once here it’s really up to you how you spend your day. The park is full of exciting adventures for you and your family to embark on, as well as tons of amazing animals to go and see.

There’s the lagoon cruise trip, which will see you drifting along the water, past incredible greenery and some stunning birds. You’ll see crocodiles resting on the lagoon’s banks and be given an insight into their lives by your cruise’s guide.

The park also hosts 4 different shows every day: the Crocodile Feeding, Snake Show, Crocodile Attack Show, and the Koala Feeding. All of which take part across the day, so make sure to check out some of them.

There’s also the wildlife discovery trail, where you’ll be able to get up close and personal with koalas, parrots, snakes, lizards, turtles, and many many more.

On top of all of this, there’s the exciting Gondwana Gateway, the Cassowary Walk, and the scary crocodile farm. All of this and more are available on this fantastic trip to the best crocodile and exotic wildlife center in Queensland.

When your day at the park is up you’ll be driven back to your cruise.
