Highlights

Bay of Shoals Wines
Bay of Shoals vineyard, winery, and cellar door offers spectacular views, hamper lunches, cellar door tastings, and wine sales – all just five minutes out of Kingscote. The cellar door and vineyard overlook the Bay of Shoals and Reeves Point, the site of the first settlement in South Australia, and our cellar door is open from 11 am to 5 pm daily.
Hope Cottage Museum
One of three original cottages built at Kingscote in 1856. The cottage has a collection of items depicting the early settlement of Kingscote, the site of South Australia's first official settlement, including the history of many early pioneers, photographs, automobile memorabilia, laundry display and an original cellar that can be viewed.
Kingscote
Kingscote is a town in the Australian state of South Australia located on Kangaroo Island about 119 kilometres (74 mi) south-west of the state capital of Adelaide. It is South Australia's oldest European settlement and the island's largest town. At the 2016 census, Kingscote had a population of 1,790. It is a well-established tourist centre and the administrative and communications centre. It is home to a colony of the smallest penguins in the world, the little penguin.
Kingscote Jetty
The Kingscote jetty situated on the beautiful Nepean Bay is often studded with yachts and fishing boats is accessible for recreational fishing where anglers love to drop a line. Great place to watch or photograph sunrises or sunsets. You can see some sea lions bathing in the sun and dolphins playing in the water.
Kingscote Reeves Point
Reeves Point is the site where the first official European settlement in South Australia was established. The area was chosen for its vantage points to view Flagstaff Hill and Monument Hill.
Old Mulberry Tree at Reeves Point
Old Mulberry Tree at Reeves Point is a tree in the Australian state of South Australia located at Reeves Point in Kingscote on Kangaroo Island. The tree, which was planted as early as 1836, probably by Charles Binden Powell, is associated with the first official European settlement of South Australia and is considered to be the oldest surviving fruit tree in the state.
