Highlights

Dover
Dover is a coastal town in England’s southeastern county of Kent. It’s a major port for ferries to Calais, in France. Built to repel invasions from across the English Channel, medieval Dover Castle overlooks the town and houses the extensive Secret Wartime Tunnels. The iconic White Cliffs of Dover are symbolic safeguards at Britain’s closest point to continental Europe.
Dover Castle
Dover Castle is a medieval castle in Dover, Kent, England. It was founded in the 11th century and has been described as the "Key to England" due to its defensive significance throughout history. Some sources say it is the largest castle in England, a title also claimed by Windsor Castle.
Kearsney Abbey
Kearsney Abbey is a beautiful and popular location, situated on the outskirts of Dover. The gardens are laid out as informal parkland around two ornamental lakes, with the River Dour flowing through. There are plenty of opportunities to relax watching the wildlife on the lakes, or to enjoy a family picnic in the gardens. The lower lake is used for model boating. The west wing of a grand country house that once stood in the park is now used as a tea room, with a variety of food and drink to suit all tastes, plus locally produced ice cream.
White Cliffs of Dover
The White Cliffs of Dover, part of the North Downs formation, is the region of the English coastline facing the Strait of Dover and France. The cliff face, which reaches a height of 350 feet, owes its striking appearance to its composition of chalk accented by streaks of black flint.
