Highlights

Augustinian monastery
Interlaken Monastery was a convent of the Augustinian Canons Regular from about 1133 until 1528 at Interlaken in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.
Interlaken
Interlaken is a traditional resort town in the mountainous Bernese Oberland region of central Switzerland. Built on a narrow stretch of valley, between the emerald-colored waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, it has old timber houses and parkland on either side of the Aare River. Its surrounding mountains, with dense forests, alpine meadows and glaciers, has numerous hiking and skiing trails.
Interlaken Garden of Friendship
Located on Höheweg Street next to the Hotel Interlaken, the Garden of Friendship is the first Japanese garden in Switzerland. It symbolizes friendly relationships between the cities of Interlaken and Otsu in Japan. The garden was created in 1995 by a landscape gardener from Otsu and represents traditional Japanese gardens, with plenty of water, flora, and harmony.
Interlaken Roman Catholic Church
Near the prominent and historic Interlaken Castle you will find a Catholic church. Situated on Schlossstrasse, this Swiss religious building houses a Roman Catholic parish church, which offers worship masses, religious education, and other services.
Lake Thun
Lake Thun is an Alpine lake in Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland region. Its shore is dotted with towns, including Thun, and Romanesque churches. In Thun’s old town, 12th-century Thun Castle houses a museum exhibiting prehistoric and medieval artifacts. To the south, Schadau Park has the Thun Panorama, a 19th-century 360-degree painting of the town. Farther south is Spiez Castle, with furnished 15th-century courtrooms.
Mount Harder
The Harderkulm (also referred to as Harder Kulm, since the top station of the funicular is called that way) is a viewpoint at 1,321 meters (4,334 ft) in the Berner Oberland region of Switzerland, overlooking the towns of Interlaken and Unterseen. It is located at the western end of the Harder, which in itself is the most western, forested ridge of the about 30 kilometers (19 mi) long, prominent mountain range dominating the north shore of the Lake of Brienz. The viewpoint belongs to the municipality of Unterseen in the canton of Bern with the slopes shared between the municipalities of Unterseen and Interlaken. The viewpoint offers extensive views across Interlaken, the alluvial land called Bödeli, and southwards up the valley of the river Lütschine to the high peaks of the Bernese Alps, whilst itself forming part of the Emmental Alps.
Wilderswil
Wilderswil is a village and a municipality in the Interlaken-Oberhasli administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. Wilderswil belongs to the Small Agglomeration Interlaken with 23,300 inhabitants (2014). The village of Wilderswil is situated at the southern border of the Bödeli, the tongue of land between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the Bernese Oberland region. It lies at the entrance to the mountain valleys containing the Lütschine river and its tributary the Saxetenbach and is some 4 km (2.5 mi) south of Interlaken, the main town of the Bödeli.
