Explore Rewa’s village, a replica Maori fishing village, and the botanical gardens with native flora. Learn what they used for medicine and for food.
Visit Saint James church and see its’ wonderful stained glass windows. Read the historic gravestones where many of the early settlers are buried.
Visit the amazing Rainbow Falls. Look down at the waterfall while standing on the viewing platform. See how many rainbows you can count as the sun reflects on the spray. Enjoy breathing in the oxygenated air.
Shop your heart out in Kerikeri’s shopping centre. Cafes abound so have lunch at your leisure.
On your return to the wharf you will stop at the Makana Chocolate Factory where you can taste a few samples and purchase gifts and indulgences. The Kauri Workshop is close by where you will see a wide range of handcrafted wood made entirely New Zealand native timber – Kauri, rimu, totara, pohutukawa and their collection of ancient wooden artefacts.
