Your tour will begin in the historic Theatre Square which forms the heart of the city. In the center of the square, you will see the sculpture of Ann from Tharau which is dedicated to the German poet Simon Dach who was born in Klaipeda. You will also have a chance to explore the rest of the square including the drama theatre and art galleries. The city is also famous for its many sculptures and pieces of art dotted around the streets which your guide will endeavor to show you.
You will then continue with a drive to the Palanga region of the city where you will enjoy a gentle walk through the Botanical Gardens which were created over 100 years ago. The gardens are also home to the amber museum which you can visit. Inside you will find informative displays and examples of fossilized tree resin.
Your tour will end with a stroll along Palanga’s Basanavicious promenade where you can visit the many souvenir shops and cafes and stop at a local restaurant to sample some delicious Lithuanian beer overlooking the ocean.
