Highlights

Bystranda
Bystranda is a Blue Flag beach in the southeastern part of the downtown of the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located just east of the mouth of the river Otra. The shallow sandy beach by the Kristiansand Boardwalk consists of fine filled sand. By Bystranda there are seating areas, bathrobes stairs, sand volleyball court, skate ramp, playground, and restrooms. At the plant of the bathing beach was emphasized that it should be accessible to children and the disabled. Bystranda is popular on hot summer days. Close to Bystranda is the indoor water park Aquarama.
Christiansholm Fortress
Christiansholm Fortress was finished in 1672 and formed a part of King Christian IV's plan for the defense of Kristiansand when the city was founded in 1641. The architect of the fortress was quartermaster general Willem Coucheron. It was built on an islet, about 100 yards from shore. Today the fortress is connected to the mainland. The only time the fortress has been in battle was against an English fleet force, lead by HMS Spencer (1800) in 1807 during the Napoleonic Wars. It was decommissioned by royal decree during June 1872 as part of a major redevelopment of fortifications across the nation. Today, Christiansholm is a tourist attraction by the Kristiansand Boardwalk and venue for a variety of cultural events and festivities. It is now owned by the municipality and is a site used principally for recreation.
Fiskebrygga Fish Market
The lively fish pier, called Fiskebrygga, is an experience in itself! Fiskebrygga is a former fish landing in the city of Kristiansand in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The buildings have been redeveloped as a restaurant, shopping area, and tourist destination.
Kilden Performing Arts Centre
Kilden Performing Arts Centre is a theatre and concert hall on Odderøya in Kristiansand, Norway. It houses Kilden Teater, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra (KSO) and Opera Sør in a joint project never previously embarked upon. There is room for a variety of concerts and other forms of cultural expression. The building is built and owned by the company "Kilden teater- og konserthus for Sørlandet IKS", and Kristiansand Municipality (80%) and Vest-Agder County (20%) are owners. The company was established in 2003 and the name Kilden (meaning "the source") specified in 2006.
Kristiansand

Kristiansand Cathedral
Kristiansand Cathedral is a cathedral in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the Kvadraturen area in the central part of the city of Kristiansand. The church is the main church for the Kristiansand domkirken parish and it is the seat of the Kristiansand arch-deanery within the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The cathedral is also the seat of the Bishop of Agder and Telemark. The brick church was completed in 1885 and is one of the largest cathedrals in Norway. This cathedral is the fourth church and third cathedral to be located on this site over the centuries.
Nupen Fontenen
Otterdalsparken, also called "Nupenparken" by the locals, include granite fountains made by Norwegian artist Kjell Nupen. 5 minutes walk from the main shopping area at the beach promenade, agreat place to relax and let the kids play. Located next to the park you find the guest harbour and restaurant Sjøhuset.
Oddernes Kirke
Oddernes Church is a parish church in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the district of Lund in the borough of Lund in the city of Kristiansand. The church is part of the Oddernes parish in the Kristiansand arch-deanery in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, stone church was built around the year 1040, making it the oldest building in the city of Kristiansand. The chancel has rubble walls and a semi-circular apse, testifying to the church's medieval origins. The newer additions such as the tower are made out of wood. The church was the main church for the old municipality of Oddernes which existed from 1838 until 1965. The church seats about 395 people. North of the church is a parish house.
Posebyen
Posebyen is the old part of town in Kristiansand with a charming, large connected collection of wooden buildings. On your way back to the city center visit Kristiansand Cathedral. The cathedral is open all year. Guided tours and free organ concerts in summer season when cruise ships arrive to Kristiansand.
