Beserah village
Beserah is an old-fashioned fishing village located about 8 kilometers north of Kuantan. The quaint little village has its very own charm and romance, where traditional boats are still used. It is a village that is famous for fresh fishes everyday! You can buy fresh fishes at wholesale prices here. A thriving fishing village, Beserah is well-known for its quality dried fish and other salted sea products. Visitors can buy salted fishes from here. You can also watch the process of belacan, keropok lekor & keropok leper making. There are many food stalls in the village. Visitors should try their famous Mee Chalong here. There is a batik factory in Beserah and a few handicraft centres, which sell souvenirs and decorative items made from seashells by the women of Beserah.
Cherating Village
Cherating village is also known as Kampong Budaya, located 47 kilometers from Kuantan. It is a famous village among local and international tourists. In the 70s, Cherating was only a quiet traditional fishing village. Today, it has bloom into an exciting mix of traditional and modern resorts, playing host to many, the world over. At Cherating, you'll find an endless list of leisure activities and local attractions like top spinning (gasing), mat weaving, or even leatherback turtles laying their eggs, coconut plucking monkeys and other activities. Other then spending your leisure time here, you might also indulge yourself with unique things such as kite or Wau flying. On a clear and sunny day, you can see people fly the kites. You can also learn the art of making Wau from the elderly whose knowledge and skills. Another opportunity not to be missed is learning the art of weaving pandanus leaves into various crafts and souvenirs. You can learn to make hats, mats, bags and such things. You can also try hand-painted or printed batik painting from the village folks. It is usually to produce beautiful fabrics like scarves, bags, footwears, bedsheets, apparels, etc.
Kuantan
Kuantan is the state capital of Pahang, Malaysia. It is located near the mouth of the Kuantan River. Kuantan is the 18th largest city in Malaysia based on 2010 population, and the largest city in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It has been expected that Kuantan will be officially declared as a city in 2020. The administrative centre of the state of Pahang was officially relocated to Kuantan on 27 August 1955 from Kuala Lipis and was officiated by HRH Sultan Abu Bakar Ri'ayatuddin Al Muadzam Shah, the Sultan of Pahang. The Pahang state government shifted the administrative centre of Pahang from Kuala Lipis to Kuantan in 1955. The urban area of Kuantan city is located mostly in the mukims of Kuala Kuantan and Beserah.
Teluk Chempedak
Teluk Cempedak or Teluk Chempedak also known as Palm Beach is a beach in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. It is located 5 kilometres east from the town centre in Kuantan. The white sandy beach and casuarinas and pine trees line the coast, with some rocky promontories facing the South China Sea. The fishing village of Beserah is about 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) away.
