You will depart from the pier to Langkawi's most prominent landmark, situated near the Kuah Jetty. Eagle Square’s main attraction is the magnificent statue of the reddish-brown eagle majestically poised for flight. Local folklore states that Langkawi (Lang-Kawi) derived its name from the word “helang” (eagle) while "Kawi" (from old Malay language) denotes reddish-brown. Therefore, Langkawi means "Reddish-brown Eagle”.
