Crocodile Adventureland
Known locally as Taman Buaya, the erstwhile Crocodile Farm (now renamed as Crocodile Adventureland) is located in Teluk Datai Bay area at the north western end of the island. The entire farm area is spread across some 20 acres of land area out of which about half the area is accessible to tourists and visitors. The farm is nestled in lush greenery with mountains at the backdrop. You will see one of the largest collections of Malaysian saltwater crocodiles in the farm of different species and sizes numbering over 1000 and comprising of both crocodiles and alligators.
Eagle Square
Langkawi, the jewel of Kedah, derives its name from the red backed Eagle which rules the skies above the island. Dataran Lang conveniently called as the Eagle Square, celebrates these majestic birds of Langkawi. It is an iconic statue located on the southern part of Pulau Langkawi, on the Kuah Jetty. The Eagle Square has an impressive 12 metre tall statue of a red backed Eagle standing on a blue star shaped platform. It is surrounded by forest covered mountains on one side and the open Andaman Sea on the other. With its wings spread, the Eagle of Dataran Lang looks ready to soar into the sky. This sculpture acts as a guide to mariners and leads them to the Kuah harbour. Situated near the ferry terminal, the Eagle square has artistic water features, a small pond to do paddle boating, verdant green park to enjoy a picnic, and a perfect background for memorable pictures. In the night, the Eagle of Langkawi is lit up with glitzy lights. There are plenty of eateries and souvenir shops around.
Gunung Mat Cincang Mountain
Gunung Mat Cincang is probably Langkawi’s best-known mountain, aside from its neighbour Gunung Raya. At 850m high, it is the second highest mountain in Langkawi and offers some pretty spectacular views of the island. It is home to the famous cable car that carries passengers 709m above sea level to the apex. Besides enjoying the spectacular views of the forested and craggy sides of Mount Cincang, on a clear day you can see all the way to the mainland and southwest Thailand. Besides that, at the top of Gunung Mat Cincang you can also have some snacks and refreshments as there are food stalls available to your need.
Langkawi
Langkawi is an archipelago made up of 99 islands on Malaysia’s west coast. Surrounded by turquoise sea, the interior of the main island is a mixture of picturesque paddy fields and jungle-clad hills. If you’re intent on carting off duty-free alcohol, cigarettes and chocolate, then this is the place to be. Still, nature lovers will find the island just as agreeable as the shoreline is fringed by powder-fine sand and swaying coconut trees. The island is especially recognised for its excellent diving opportunities and this tropical gem hides a treasure trove of other exciting holiday opportunities. From the expansive Underwater World Langkawi along Pantai Cenang to the soaring Cable Car in Pantai Kok, Langkawi is an electrifying locale that keeps visitors coming back for more.
Oriental Village
Oriental Village is best known as the home of the Langkawi Cable Car and Sky Bridge. It is a themed open-air complex with a huge lake in the centre and an art gallery, animal exhibits, clothes, souvenir and handicraft stores spread out around it plus a few local and international restaurants.
Telaga Harbour Park
Telaga Harbour Park is located on the road heading west past Langkawi International Airport. A dramatic 27-acre bay with berthing facilities, the harbour is noteworthy for Perdana Quay, a boardwalk just opposite the marina featuring restaurants and pubs. Telaga Harbour Park used to be a small fishing village but is now a well-developed township that is home to transient and home base yachts as well as mega yachts and is the only such harbour town in the region.
