Meet Changsha Tongguan Kiln and Jinggang Ancient Town on a private tour

Changsha is the capital of Hunan Province in South-central China and has a history of over 3,000 years. Mao Zedong lived and worked as a teacher in Changsha, and it was the site of his conversion to communism. A huge sculpture of Mao's head on Orange Island reminds everyone of his connection to the city. Today, Changsha has an urban population of about 7 million people. The Tongguan Kiln also called the Changsha Kiln, is located in Wazhapin, Tongguan Subdistrict, Changsha, Hunan, China. It is one of the major kiln sites in Tongguan to be protected at the national level.The place was a historical kiln site of potteries in the Tang (618–907 AD) and Five Dynasties periods (907–960 AD).[citation needed] Tang dynasty earthenware fragment with sancai glaze, end of 7th-early 8th century, excavated in Nishapur, Iran. The site covers about 68 hectares and found in 1956, it was the source place of underglaze by the Palace Museum's identification in 1957. The place was published one of the Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level by the State Council in January 1988, and was classified as one of the 100 Great Sites Protection Plan from 2006.

Jinggang Ancient Town is a famous historic and cultural town in Hunan Province. In December 2011, it was awarded as a national 4A-level tourist attraction by the National Tourism Administration. Jinggang Ancient Town is located in the northwest of Wangcheng District, Changsha City, Hunan Province, adjacent to the Xiangjiang River in the east, and facing Tongguan Town across the river. Jinggang used to be a prosperous commercial port for material distribution in the province, reputed as "Little Hankou". The significance of Jinggang ancient town originates from her long history. Jinggang has a history of one thousand years or more. The name of the town came from commemoration of General Li Jing of the Tang Dynasty.
