Highlights

Amalfi
Amalfi is a town in a dramatic natural setting below steep cliffs on Italy’s southwest coast. Between the 9th and 11th centuries, it was the seat of a powerful maritime republic. The Arab-Norman Sant'Andrea cathedral at the heart of town, with its striped Byzantine facade, survives from this era. The Museo Arsenale Amalfi is a medieval shipyard-turned-exhibition space.
Amalfi Drive
The Amalfi Drive (formally Strada Statale 163) is the conventional name of a section of road which runs along the stretch of the Amalfi Coast between the southern Italian towns of Sorrento and Amalfi. The road was originally built by the Romans. The drive between Salerno, at the southern base of the peninsula, and Positano follows the coast for about 80 km (50 mi). For the greater part of its route, the road is carved out of the side of the coastal cliffs, giving views down to the Tyrrhenian Sea and on the other side up to the cliffs above. The road passes through the village of Positano, which is built on the side of the hill. Both the village and the whole drive are tourist attractions in the area.
Forum at Pompeii
Ruins of temples, municipal buildings & the basilica in the social & civic center of the Roman town.
Naples
Naples, a city in southern Italy, sits on the Bay of Naples. Nearby is Mount Vesuvius, the still-active volcano that destroyed nearby Roman town Pompeii. Dating to the 2nd millennium B.C., Naples has centuries of important art and architecture. The city's cathedral, the Duomo di San Gennaro, is filled with frescoes. Other major landmarks include the lavish Royal Palace and Castel Nuovo, a 13th-century castle.
Ravello
Ravello, a resort town set 365 meters above the Tyrrhenian Sea by Italy’s Amalfi Coast, is home to iconic cliffside gardens. The 13th-century, Moorish-style Villa Rufolo offers far-reaching views from its terraced gardens, and hosts indoor and outdoor concerts during the popular summertime Ravello Festival. Villa Cimbrone, a medieval-style estate perched on a steep outcrop, is surrounded by another celebrated garden.
Ravello Cathedral
The Duomo, which faces the main square (Piazza Vescovado), is the spiritual and social center of Ravello. Built in the 11th century with support from the Rufolo family, the Duomo is a combination of Baroque and Romanesque styles. Dedicated to St. Pantaleone, the church has undergone extensive modifications and restorations over the past 900 years. The Duomo’s shining white façade dates back to the last major restoration in 1931. The Duomo’s bell tower, which dates back to the 13th century, shows Moorish and Byzantine influence.
Ruins of Pompeii
Pompeii, Italian Pompei, preserved ancient Roman city in Campania, Italy, 14 miles (23 km) southeast of Naples, at the southeastern base of Mount Vesuvius. It was built on a spur formed by a prehistoric lava flow to the north of the mouth of the Sarnus (modern Sarno) River.
The Basilica of Pompeii
The Basilica, with its extension of 1,500 square metres, was the most sumptuous building of the Forum, and its space was used to carry out business and for the administration of justice. It is accessed from the Forum through five entrances separated by tuff pillars; inside it is divided into three naves with two rows of brick columns with Ionic capitals. A richly decorated suggestum, where judges sat while judicial affairs were managed, is located at the centre of the short western side. The space was enhanced with an equestrian statue, whereas the walls are richly decorated with stucco like large blocks of marble. The Basilica is dated back to 130-120 BC and is one of the oldest examples of this type of building in the entire Roman world. It was excavated since the 19th century, when investigations in the Forum square area began.

Itinerary

08:00

You will leave from the port of Naples and reach either the archaeological sites of Pompeii or Herculaneum, which hold the famous ruins of the lost cities buried by the ash of Mount Vesuvius when it erupted in 79 AD.

Once you discovered everything about these fascinating sites, take a panoramic view over the Chiunzi mountains on the way to Ravello.

Ravello is a town situated on one of the highest points of the Amalfi coast, founded in the 5th century and used as a shelter from the Romans against the barbarian invasions. From there you’ll have exceptional views over the coast richly decorated with villas and gardens. A true joy for your eyes!

After some free time, you’ll leave to reach your final destination, Amalfi.

Amalfi is a city rich in history and power, it became a maritime superpower in Italy together with Pisa, Venice, and Genoa, the so-called Repubbliche Marinara (The Maritime Republics) which regulated sea trading and commerce. Now the city is the main tourist attraction with its sun-filled piazzas where you can find plenty of restaurants, souvenirs, and liqueur shops (you don’t want to leave Amalfi without tasting some Limoncello, a lemon-based digestive). Overlooking the main square of Amalfi, you can see the beautiful Romanesque Basilica dedicated to the Saint Apostle Andrew.

At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to Naples on a final relaxing scenic drive through Via Agerola where you c
