The charm of this seaport city soon becomes apparent when explored. The very heart of Genoa's Old Town area is a good place to walk around and boasts a series of narrow alleyways, ancient churches, and Renaissance-style palaces. Dominating the area, Genoa's Porto Antico (Old Port) has had new life breathed into it and is now a particularly lively location filled with waterfront shops and eateries.

Highlights
Itinerary
10:00
A relaxing 30-40 minute drive will bring us to Rapallo from where we take a brief drive along the ‘Golden Sun Road’ towards the sophisticated resort town of Santa Margherita. A short 10-minute cruise to Portofino gives us the opportunity to view the stunning little inlets, secluded beaches, and the beautiful tree-covered hillsides.
As we enter the Bay of Portofino – once a small fishing village and now a sophisticated international tourist destination – we see the charming colored houses overlooking the square and small port. After a short sightseeing tour (on foot) we have time to explore by ourselves the quaint streets, charming shops, or maybe just ‘people watch’ whilst sitting and relaxing in one of the many pavements cafes and bars.
We return by boat to Santa Margherita where our coach is waiting to take us on our return journey to Genoa in plenty of time to rejoin our ship. Please note this tour is subject to suitable sea conditions. If conditions do not permit us to reach Portofino by boat we will travel by public bus (with our guide) to Portofino.
