This park is remarkable in that it was created originally to ensure that the surrounding rainforests would be protected against development as they were essential in collecting enough rainfall to ensure that the Chagres river had enough water to ensure the Panama canals huge requirement of water was fulfilled. The collected freshwater also provides the energy necessary to produce power from hydroelectric plants which is essential for major cities in the area. The Embura Indians relocated here more than 10 years ago and live in harmony with the surroundings. This excursion includes an invite into their village to experience their way of life and you will be amazed at how at one with nature they live.
The Embura have expert knowledge of most of the plants in the area and use them as part of healing potions etc. They also can make a myriad of different colored body paints in which they cover themselves.
You will take these people into your heart from the moment you meet them! Lunch is also included on this excursion as well as a guided tour of the park.
