Private half-day tour to Sanxia town and Yingge Taiwan’s pottery capital from Taipei
Sanxia is a city located 22 kilometers southwest of Taipei, a bustling city built about 100 years ago, with narrow winding streets and brick buildings. The old streets of Sanxia are fascinating and the Tai Hwa pottery factory is breathtaking with its magnificent products. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Taipei.
First, you will visit Zushi Temple, “Temple of the Patriarch”, which was built in 1937 in the village of Sanxia. The temple is known for its intricate carvings, stone and bronze columns and statues, carved stone lions, wood carvings, and exquisite bronze bas-reliefs.
Then, you will proceed to Sanxia Old Street which is just the street beside the temple.
Sanxia Old Street is a charming old street, with renovated red-brick merchant houses and residences dating from the late Qing Dynasty and early Japanese colonial era.
The last attraction of the tour is a visit to the porcelain factory in Yingge and Porcelain street in Yingge. The street itself appears like ceramics made put together tile by tile. On this narrow street, there are many shops where you can buy everything from clay tea sets to statues.
