Itinerary

10:00

With only a very small population, this ancient city was originally an industrial area, which extracted copper & Iron bought from nearby towns. You will be able to see the acropolis and the parks which were created to preserve the archaeology of the surrounding area. The many museums and parks are a very popular tourist destination, along with the 15th-century fortress made from Etruscan stone remains.

Your last stop on this tour will be another small populated village called Baratti. Situated very close to Populonia, the village is also another popular tourist spot, due to its archaeological finds. You will be able to admire the Baratti Tower at the port, built in the 15th century, and the further north you will see the San Cerbone Chapel. Another point of interest here is the Saldarini House, completed in the 1960s, it is a stunning example of modern architecture. Designed and built by Vittorio Giorgini, the structure is made of wire mesh and thin concrete.

At the end of your tour, you will be returned to the port in plenty of time to meet your ship’s departure.
