Overview

Jeti Oguz is a tranquil village in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan and one of the most popular day trips from Karakol. Jeti-Oguz attracts many tourists every year with its breathtaking “Broken Heart" and "Seven Bulls” red rock formations. The name is symbolic because there is a 35 km long wall of seven large red-brown cliffs that look like ranked furious bulls standing together. The rock is massive and wonderful. During one day you will discover the amazingly beautiful red rock and sandstone canyons of Jeti-Oguz, Devichy Kosi waterfall, and travel to the foot of the Oguz-Bashy peak.

Highlights

Jeti-Oguz Rocks
The Jeti-Ögüz Rocks is a geological protected area (nature monument) located in Jeti-Ögüz District of Issyk-Kul Province of Kyrgyzstan. It was established in 1975 with the purpose of conservation of a unique geological formation - sheer cliffs composed of Tertiary red conglomerates. The name derives from the rock formation's resemblance to seven bulls and a legend about a khan's unfaithful wife. Another near-by formation is called the 'broken heart'. The rock formation is a well-known landmark in Kyrgyzstan and is seen as a national or regional symbol, and hence is the subject of paintings, songs, and even music videos. The surrounding area is known for its natural environment.
Karakol
Karakol, and formerly Przhevalsk, is the fourth largest city in Kyrgyzstan, near the eastern tip of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, about 150 kilometers from the Kyrgyzstan–China border and 380 kilometers from the capital Bishkek. It is the administrative capital of the Issyk-Kul Region. Located at the crossroads of Central Asia, the city of Karakol in eastern Kyrgyzstan is a fascinating gateway to the region's diverse history, cuisine, and nature. Many unique cultures contribute to the town's culinary history and cultural heritage: Kyrgyz, Tatar, Russian, Dungan, Uighur, Kalmyk, Uzbek, and more. And with both the Tian Shan Mountains and Lake Issyk-Kul nearby, you'll discover limitless outdoor adventure opportunities, too. Whether you're visiting for the trekking, the food, or just pure relaxation, you'll find it here.
Oguz-Bashy peak
Oguz Bashi Peak (5,170 m) is the 3rd highest peak in the Terskey Ala Too Range and is located within a wall of mountains that concludes the Jeti Oguz Valley. Considered one of the most stunning peaks around Lake Issyk Kul, Oguz Bashi Peak displays 2 peaks that look like bull horns, earning itself the name “Bull’s Head” in Kyrgyz.
