Highlights

Absolut Ice Bar
ICEBAR Stockholm by ICEHOTEL is the world’s first permanent icebar. The interior is carved out of 40 tons of natural ice from the Torne River by ice sculptors from ICEHOTEL. ICEBAR has been a popular attraction in Stockholm since the opening in 2002 and attracts both tourists and locals who want a slice of the Arctic North in downtown Stockholm.
City Hall
A city as lovely, unusual and pioneering as Stockholm deserves a fitting symbol. And that symbol is the Stadhus (City Hall) which was finished in 1923. Lying across the Stadhusbron bridge in the island of Kungsholmen, this city landmark was built in the truest spirit of the national romanticism. The building is made from around 8 million decorated bricks, and garnished with spires, domes and minarets of green-tinged copper. One corner of the building rises into a 106-meter (450ft) tower and at the very pinnacle of the tower shine three golden crowns (Tre Kronor), Sweden’s emblem.
Gamla Stan
Stockholm’s Old Town, also known as Gamla Stan, is one of the best-preserved historic districts in all of Europe. The narrow cobbled streets and yellow-ochre buildings give the Old Town its unique character. Here you will find the Swedish Parliament, Stockholm Cathedral, and the Nobel Museum. The Royal Palace is also located in the Old Town, where you can watch the daily changing of the guard.
Royal Dramatic Theatre
The Royal Dramatic Theatre, founded in 1788 and commonly known as Dramaten, is Sweden’s National Theatre. The theatre has an assignment from the government to perform classical theatre, newly written Swedish and international theatre, and theatre for children and youth. The theatre is owned by the state. The Royal Dramatic Theatre’s building at Nybroplan in Stockholm has been the theatre’s home since 1908. This great art noveau-building houses five stages. The Main Stage seats up to 770 spectators.
Royal Palace
With about 600 rooms, the Royal Palace is the official residence of the Swedish royal family and one of the largest palaces in Europe. Only used for official ceremonies, the grandiose palace is open to the public all year round. It is unquestionably one of the most popular tourist attractions in Stockholm. The Tre Kronor Museum, Treasury, Royal Apartments, and the impressive architectural style and decor of the palace will take your breath away.
Skansen
Swedes really know how to keep their history, culture and traditions alive - and Skansen is a good example of that. With about 150 buildings and farmsteads relocated from different parts of the country, Skansen is a traditional pre-industrial miniature Sweden and the first open-air museum in the world. Situated on the island of Djurgården, the museum is also home to an amazing zoo, featuring animals native to Scandinavia.
