Itinerary

10:00

Walkthrough the history along the marble streets lined with colourful public buildings, some dating back over 2000 years. Among them, the Baths of Scholastica and the Library of Celsus. It was built at the beginning of the 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila to be a memorial to his father Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of Province of Asia, the Temple of Hadrian and the Grand Theatre are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. Grand Theatre was built in the 3rd Century B.C and it was later expanded to 24,000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st Century A.D.

After exploring Ephesus, you will have the chance to have some free time to visit the few souvenir stands, cafeterias, and also bathroom facilities.

Now refreshed, we will then drive to St. John’s Basilica, it is believed that the evangelist St. John had spent his last years in the region around Ephesus and buried in the southern slope of Ayosolug Hill. At Saint John’s Basilica, you will have time to discover the grounds and there will be plenty of photo opportunities.

The tour will then continue to Artemis Temple, this used to be one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, also known as the Temple of Diana. This Greek Temple was dedicated to an ancient, local form of goddess Artemis, this temple has been rebuilt 3 times.

With this being the last stop, we will now make our way back on the scenic journey through Kusadasi town center and you will be returned back to the port in plenty of time for your cruise ship’s departure.
