Highlights

Daming Lake
Daming Lake is the largest lake in the city of Jinan, Shandong, China and one of city's main natural and cultural landmarks. Located to the north of the historical city center, the lake is fed by the artesian karst springs of the area and hence retains a fairly constant water level through the entire year. As a central site in the historical center of Jinan, Daming Lake has been the setting of many events in the history of the city. From March 2006 to April 2007, the Daming Lake Park was renovated and extended to connect all portions of the park for unified access.
Furong Ancient Street
Named after Furong Spring, Furong Ancient Street is a major and historical commercial street that runs through the center of Jinan. Nearby attractions include two ancient government offices, the Imperial Examination Hall, the Confucius Temple, and the ancient city main road. In ancient times, it was where scholars would drink wine and compose poetry. These days, Furong Street is lively and bustling with countless street vendors offering a variety of local and international snacks. Furong Street is a major attraction for tourists, making it a lively, exciting, and busting place day to day.
Jinan
Jinan is one of China's megalopolises and sub-provincial cities. It is also the political, economic, cultural, and financial center of Shandong province. Jinan lies in the northern foothills of the Mount Tai massif, on the high ground just south of the Huang He (Yellow River), which provides the major route along the north side of the Shandong Hills. Jinan’s modern growth began in 1852, when the Huang He shifted its course to the old riverbed of the Ji, just north of the city. In 1912 the north-south railway from Tianjin to Pukou was completed, with a rail junction at Jinan. The city rapidly became a major commercial and collecting centre for the rich agricultural region to the north. Today Jinan is the chief cultural centre in Shandong, with agricultural, medical, and engineering colleges and several universities—notably Shandong University (1901). There are also many relics of Jinan’s historical importance. The surrounding area has many well-known sites of natural beauty. Mount Tai, designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987, is one of China’s main tourist attractions.
Qushuiting Street
Qushuiting Street is a culturally significant alley in the historical center of the City of Jinan, Shandong Province, China. The history of the street can be traced back to the times of the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534). The street was the site of an annual festival that has been documented since the times of the Northern Wei Dynasty and continued until the beginning of the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912): On the 3rd day of the 3rd month of the old Chinese calendar, scholar-bureaucrats gathered at the Palace Pool to ritually cleanse themselves. This was followed by a banquet along Qushuiting Street/Qushui Creek. Cups of alcohol were floated on trays along Qushui Creek. The scholars would sit next to the creek and compose poetry. If a participant's poem displeased the other guests, he would be obliged to drink more alcohol.
