Highlights

Port Vila
Port Vila is the harborside capital and main hub of Vanuatu, on Efate island. Its small downtown is home to colorful market stalls selling produce and local handicrafts. The National Museum of Vanuatu, inside the Vanuatu Cultural Centre, displays artifacts such as slit-gong drums and outrigger canoes. The town is a base for diving and trips to Mele Cascades, a multi-tiered waterfall with rock pools in a rainforest.

Itinerary

08:00

Your first stop will be the Iarofa Cultural Village, where you will sample and learn about the country’s captivating village life. Here, the locals will teach you everything you need to know about the village’s various herbal concoctions and perform a traditional dance performance – along with the common grass skirts and all! If that’s not enough entertainment for you, then prepare for the heated grand finale of the daring fire-walking display.

For a great way to see what the village life of Port Vila has to offer, you will be taken to the Eton Village, where you can behold the phenomenal warmth of the villagers. If you have any children traveling with you, then the trip to Eton Primary School will prove to be a special one for them, as they experience a different schooling culture.

The next stop will be the tropically vibrant location of the Blue Lagoon, a location that boasts sparkling blue waters and the immaculately maintained forestry surrounding it. You will be given the opportunity to taste the in-season fruits harvesting from the trees.

Your tour guide will then drive you to the Pang Pang village, a village that is so extraordinary that they had to name it twice! Here, your guide will teach you all about the prodigiously huge banyan trees, as you continue to gain a feel of authentic village life.

Next, you will be taken to the secluded and intimate location of the Beachcomber & Takara Lodge, where you can enjoy a spot of lunch and the famous thermal pools and natural hot springs.

The short drive to your next spot, the WWII Museum, will provide you with an additional taste of Vanuatu’s rich historical past, as you come across remains and relics from the war. Lend an ear to the owner of the museum as he tells you engrossing stories about Vanuatu’s involvement in WWII.

If you fancy an afternoon of sun, tea, or cool drinks, then Gideon’s Landing is sure to interest you. Here you will find Gideon’s Cafe & Bar, offering you the relaxing opportunity to enjoy the beautiful reef fronts, home to turtles and other exquisite sea creatures.
